Episode 2.3 Hassun - March 14, 2014 Preview

Episode 2.3    Hassun - March 14, 2014 Preview
The Trial of Will Graham

Hannibal 2x03 "Hassun" - Will Graham's (Hugh Dancy) trial begins and he must watch as those closest to him are forced to take sides. Jack Crawford (Laurence Fishburne, already in hot water from Alana Bloom's (Caroline Dhavernas) scathing report about his conduct with Will, is pulled in conflicting directions. He acknowledges that he may be partially to blame for pushing his star pupil over the edge. To add confusion to an already suspenseful trial, a court bailiff is killed in a Copycat-like manner and those closest to Will start to wonder if they were wrong about him. The outcome of the entire trial hangs in the balance as one last key victim is served up. Also starring Hettienne Park, Aaron Abrams, Scott Thompson and Raúl Esparza. Episode 2.2 Sakizuki - March 7, 2014 recap & review

"I BELIEVE YOU" after one season and 1 episode. Had Gillian said that on X-Files sooner it would have been a very different show.

Hannibal on NBC Episode 2.2    Sakizuki - March 7, 2014

Jack Crawford continues to question his judgement. Kade offers Will an out. Agent Katz brings Will into the case for advise behind Jack's back...

So Will Graham and Hannibal are evenly matched. But Hannibal has a fatal flaw. Hubris. So typical. And his Hubris is starting to show. And Will knows that Hannibal is as smart as Will. So if Will knows the truth, so does Hannibal. LOGIC makes sense to me...

The killers artwork was destroyed by a heroin addict that could handle the OD and survive - ripping his flesh form the collage. OUCH!!! Even after hours in  the water, Hannibal could track down the corn with his impeccable nose. Will figured it out after a few seconds looking at the pictures. TOP THAT!

Touching scene between Hannibal and the artist as Lector helps complete the master piece. I think they should rename this series "Blatant Dramatic Irony."

Telling moment at the end however. Guess Bedelia got out of dodge just in time...

Episode 2.1 Kaiseki - February 28, 2014 Recap & Review

Episode 2.1    Kaiseki - February 28, 2014 Recap & Review
"Jack Crawford doesn't know what you're capable of"
"Neither do you"

So in the first few moments of the show ... WTF!!!
So if the show is going to stay religious to the time line of the books, you know Lawrence Fishburne (Not Morgan Stanley or Samuel Jackson right FOX) will survive the fight. Would it not be great for him to reprise his Nessun Dorma in the middle of the fight?

Will is locked up. Hannibal is hilariously filling Will's shoes. Gillian Anderson is playing a bigger role now. Lawrence Fishburne's job is in jeopardy.

SPOILER ALERT...

This episode focuses more on Hannibal than any other in Season One.  Opening scene pits Hannibal and Jack  Crawford in a mortal combat. Cut to twelve weeks earlier - perfect for 12 episode left in the season- Jack Crawford is in trouble with management. Kade Prurnell (Cynthia Nixon - Sex and the City) is investigating the way Will was used in the field knowing about his problems. Alana Bloom (Caroline Dhavermas) refuses to recant her accusations. With Will locked up, Jack invites Lector to take his job. Mads Mikkelsen's Hannibal is loving his new job a little too much. YADA YADA YADA
I have been having nightmares based on the final image of this episode...

Hannibal v Joe Carroll

I love watching this and Following at the same time - give or take a few weeks. Both shows deal with a serial killer. And both - for all their insanity - have to deal with characters far more insane. Fascinating.

Hannibal likes to create culinary art from his victims.
Joe Carroll is all about the passion in the moment of death.
Both seem to really enjoy the game of being just a step or two in front of the lawmen chasing them.
Both have a very distinct relationship with one or more of their hunters.
